At Interpreting History, we use our passion for the study of historical events, innovations, and ideas to shine a new light on the way that the past is considered. We do this through the use of creative first-person interpretation and improvisational acting, with the goal of transporting modern day guests and audiences, in an interactive, immersive way, to a place where the past comes alive. This encourages a unique personal connection to, and a better understanding of, the shared history of humanity.
History can be, and often has been, used as a tool to forward and champion certain concepts and philosophies. However, history, as written, is not always the factual recording of the past. It is more of a map “drawn from a particular point of view…” At Interpreting History, our educational focus and our research-based approach, drives us to move beyond narrowly established preconceptions to present a broad and thought-provoking presentation which fully considers the role of all people.
